Empire of Light is the operating name of Media Marketing Resource LLC, a California limited liability company. This page brings together every legal document for every Empire of Light product, shows which of them applies to what, and sets out our disclaimer, refund, cancellation, copyright, and accessibility policies.

Wisdom Talk no longer has separate terms. Its rules live in Section 16 of the Terms and Section 13 of the Privacy Policy. One set of documents, not two.
Every product runs under the same Terms, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. This table shows where each product lives, how you sign in, which other documents add to those three, and how refunds and cancelling work.

Empire of Light offers education and personal-development content about consciousness, wisdom traditions, science, and self-understanding. Everything we share is for educational and informational purposes. We invite reflection; we do not dictate belief, and we make no claim of metaphysical certainty. What our teachings mean for your life is yours to decide.
Empire of Light is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, medical care, or mental-health treatment, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed physician, therapist, psychologist, or other qualified professional. Our assessments describe learning styles and patterns for educational purposes; they are not psychological diagnoses, not clinical instruments, and not scientifically validated measurements of you — they are our good-faith educational reading, and we will never present them as more than that. Do not disregard or delay professional advice because of anything you read or experience here.
Lumen, the voice of Wisdom Talk, is an artificial intelligence system, not a person, counsellor or clinician. Wisdom Talk is a library, not a clinic: it is for learning and reflection, and it is not medical, psychological or crisis care.
What we can and cannot offer. In the Wisdom Wheel, messages you send your teacher are screened automatically for language suggesting crisis; where a conversation is flagged, teaching stops and crisis resources are offered immediately — automatically, never waiting on a human. A person is then alerted, and that alert contains none of your words. Human follow-up is within 24 hours. In Wisdom Talk, if you tell Lumen you might hurt yourself or are in danger, she gives you a way to reach a person right away and stays with you gently; that moment is never charged, and we keep only a count that it happened, never your words. We are a small team. We do not offer live 24/7 human support and we will not claim to.

Personal growth is individual. We do not promise any specific outcome, result, or transformation, and your experience will depend on many factors that are personal to you. Nothing here is a guarantee of any particular result.
Empire of Light uses artificial intelligence as part of how we create and deliver the experience. Some imagery on this site is AI-generated, and some written content is created or assisted by AI. Our personality-adaptive teaching also uses automated systems to tailor material to how you learn. We use these tools in service of clarity and care, and we tell you so in the spirit of transparency.
Which machines see what you share. It depends on the product, so here it is product by product.

We want Empire of Light to genuinely serve you. Our refund terms balance that intention with the nature of digital products, community access, and live talk time. The rules differ by product, so they are set out product by product.
Wisdom Talk: all purchases are final. Hour packages, monthly plans and Handbooks are not refundable. Your ten free minutes are there so you can try Wisdom Talk before you buy anything. If a Handbook does not arrive, email us and we will make it right.
This rule is specific to Wisdom Talk. The 14-day rule and the good-faith exceptions below do not apply to Wisdom Talk purchases, and neither does the Learner Covenant's "more protective reading" rule, which covers your data, your privacy, your safety and how we treat you, not prices or refunds. It does not limit any refund the law requires, or our correcting a billing mistake, such as a double charge or a renewal charged after you asked us to cancel. Full terms: Terms, Section 16.
Digital products (courses, readings, downloadable materials). You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not substantially accessed or downloaded the materials (as a general guide, not completed more than a small portion of a course and not downloaded the bulk of its materials). This protects access to work that, once consumed, cannot be returned.
Illuminated Traits Report. Your report is drawn the moment you finish the twelve questions, so once it has been delivered it counts as accessed under the rule above. If you paid and could not take the assessment, or your report did not arrive, email us and we will make it right.
Subscriptions (the Wisdom Wheel founding membership and the paid tiers of The Luminaries). You may cancel at any time, and your access continues through the end of the billing period you have already paid for. We do not provide partial refunds for the current period, and cancelling stops all future renewals. If you cancel during the Wisdom Wheel's free trial, you are never charged.
Good-faith exceptions (every product except Wisdom Talk). If you have a genuine concern — a product did not fit what was described, or another legitimate issue — email us and we will consider it case by case. We would rather make it right than hold to a rule that does not serve you.

The Wisdom Wheel and the paid Luminaries tiers are cancelled in the community portal. It takes about a minute, you do it yourself, and no reason is needed:
The How to cancel page shows every screen. You can also cancel by email: email us from the address on your account and a person handles it. Cancel before the Wisdom Wheel trial ends and you are never charged.
Wisdom Talk monthly plans are cancelled inside Wisdom Talk: open the menu, choose Your plan, then Cancel my monthly plan, and confirm. Billing stops at once, the hours you already hold stay until they expire, and a confirmation follows by email. Or cancel by email: Send us the cancel email (it opens a ready-to-send message), or write to mail at empireoflight.love from the address on your Wisdom Talk account. No reason is needed. A person stops the plan and writes back to confirm, normally within one business day. If a renewal is charged after you sent your cancel email, we reverse it.
Empire of Light respects intellectual property and expects the same of our community. The Luminaries community allows members to post content, and we respond to valid copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:

Counter-notice. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice with your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, and your consent to jurisdiction in the appropriate federal court.
Repeat infringers. We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or remove accounts of members who repeatedly infringe.
Empire of Light is committed to making our Services accessible to as many people as possible, in keeping with our belief that no one should be left at the door.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We design with sufficient color contrast, keyboard navigability, reduced-motion support, semantic structure, and descriptive text for meaningful images. Accessibility is ongoing work, and parts of the Services may not fully conform, and we keep improving them.
We welcome your help. If you encounter a barrier or need content in a different format, please tell us at email us and we will work with you to provide the information or service you need.

For deletion, you can start the request yourself from your Personal Data & Rights page — we verify it with a single-use link to your registered address, and a person completes it. For export, or anything else, email us from your registered address; we verify it is you and fulfil it. Our commitment is 30 days, and we aim for 48 hours. Export is run by a person; we will not describe a control that does not exist. See the Learner Covenant, Promises 2 through 4.
For Wisdom Talk, email us from the address on your Wisdom Talk account: a person removes your Wisdom Talk account, hours, Takeaway and Handbooks within 30 days and writes to you when it is done (Privacy Policy, Section 13).
