Empire of Light offers education and personal-development content about consciousness, wisdom traditions, science, and self-understanding. Everything we share is for educational and informational purposes. We invite reflection; we do not dictate belief, and we make no claim of metaphysical certainty. What our teachings mean for your life is yours to decide.
Empire of Light is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, medical care, or mental-health treatment, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed physician, therapist, psychologist, or other qualified professional. Our assessments describe learning styles and patterns for educational purposes; they are not psychological diagnoses, not clinical instruments, and not scientifically validated measurements of you — they are our good-faith educational reading, and we will never present them as more than that. Do not disregard or delay professional advice because of anything you read or experience here.
What we can and cannot offer. Messages you send your teacher are screened automatically for language suggesting crisis; where a conversation is flagged, teaching stops and crisis resources are offered immediately — automatically, never waiting on a human. A person is then alerted, and that alert contains none of your words. Human follow-up is within 24 hours. We are a small team. We do not offer live 24/7 human support and we will not claim to.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out for help right away — contact a qualified professional, call or text a crisis line in your country, or contact your local emergency services. In the U.S., you can call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Personal growth is individual. We do not promise any specific outcome, result, or transformation, and your experience will depend on many factors that are personal to you. Nothing here is a guarantee of any particular result.
Empire of Light uses artificial intelligence as part of how we create and deliver the experience. Some imagery on this site is AI-generated, and some written content is created or assisted by AI. Our personality-adaptive teaching also uses automated systems to tailor material to how you learn. We use these tools in service of clarity and care, and we tell you so in the spirit of transparency.
Which machines see your answers. Your assessment responses and your conversations with your teacher are processed by Google Cloud's Vertex AI (model: Gemini 2.5 Flash), running inside our own Google Cloud project in the United States, without a shared API key. Your content is not used to train Google's models. The separate service we use to generate marketing imagery and website copy never receives anything about you. We want Empire of Light to genuinely serve you. Our refund terms balance that intention with the nature of digital products and community access.
Digital products (courses, readings, downloadable materials). You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not substantially accessed or downloaded the materials (as a general guide, not completed more than a small portion of a course and not downloaded the bulk of its materials). This protects access to work that, once consumed, cannot be returned.
Subscriptions (including paid tiers of The Luminaries). You may cancel at any time, and your access continues through the end of the billing period you have already paid for. We do not provide partial refunds for the current period, and cancelling stops all future renewals.
Good-faith exceptions. If you have a genuine concern — a product did not fit what was described, or another legitimate issue — contact us at email us and we will consider it case by case. We would rather make it right than hold to a rule that does not serve you.

Empire of Light respects intellectual property and expects the same of our community. The Luminaries community allows members to post content, and we respond to valid copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:

Counter-notice. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice with your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, and your consent to jurisdiction in the appropriate federal court.
Repeat infringers. We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or remove accounts of members who repeatedly infringe.
Empire of Light is committed to making our Services accessible to as many people as possible, in keeping with our belief that no one should be left at the door.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We design with sufficient color contrast, keyboard navigability, reduced-motion support, semantic structure, and descriptive text for meaningful images. Accessibility is ongoing work, and parts of the Services may not yet fully conform as we continue to improve.

For deletion, you can start the request yourself from your Personal Data & Rights page — we verify it with a single-use link to your registered address, and a person completes it. For export, or anything else, email us from your registered address; we verify it is you and fulfil it. Our commitment is 30 days, and we aim for 48 hours. Export does not yet have a self-serve button; we will not describe a control as available before it exists. See the Learner Covenant, Promises 2 through 4.
